Son turned 21

My son turned 21 last week. I asked him if he wanted to celebrate with his friends or treat them out to lunch.  He said NO.  ...Hubby asked what he wanted for his birthday. He said NOTHING.  I asked if he wanted CASH. He said 500 pesos will do. 

So for his birthday week, we treated ourselves to two lunches and two dinners.

Happy birthday boys ... guys!!!

It's Jake's 21st birthday today. Brought the family to Causeway, (cause it's on the way...) and SIL's family is Chinese. They had an early dinner, a very late lunch for me, or what is referred to as merienda cena.  Son is turning twenty one too, next week.

That's our family.  Good to be around family. Somehow they give me a sense of security. When my sisters and their families left for the States, my Dad went to live with them and when my Nanay died, I felt so ALONE.  

I turned to 'friends'. Thought they could fill up the emptiness, the silence, the sadness. 

 Only to learn later on that these friends were 'user friendly', so they became my frenemies.

An open letter to my dearest son .....

An open letter to my dearest  son...

Thank you for watching "In Nomine Matris" with me even if we were the only two people inside the theatre on it's first showing day.  It felt creepy and scary to be the only two insane individuals who sat and watched that indie film, thinking it was worth two long hours and a hundred seventy one pesos. But it was fun though! We laughed and talked as loudly as we did and no one around to be bothered or irritated by our giggles and unnecessary comments. The only good thing I got from  that movie, aside from the flamenco dances, is this....  a mother is born when a child is born. 

What would I do if you don't watch movies with me? Dad sleeps in the theatre, {unless we are watching Transformers or some sci fi action movie}. What would I do if I couldn't make you clean up your room, fix your bed, drive or do errands for me? What would you do without me who worry, fidget and  fuss over you? You know you need Mom and Mom needs you too.

Happy Mother's Day to me!  Thank you Son !!!

I love my travel buddies! ... April 29-30, 2013 at Fontana, Clark, Pampanga

The magic words for the travel buddies to get together are .... "buffet tayo; may promo fare sa PAL, CEB or Air Asia; may surprise birthday party; may sakit si....; OMG, may patay! :( .... "  AT ... duty free shopping tayo!!!

{Btw, thanks Yayo for the discount cards at Duty Free Philippines!!!}

So, off we went to Clark in Angeles Pampanga for a joyful ride in Yayo's brand new Rav 4...  to shop, to dine, to drink moscato, to chat til dawn and talk about anything and everything. You should be with the travel buddies and find out our favorite topic. wahahaha... diba Bubs?
