it's christmas in september at our home

'christmas starts in september.' it has always been my responsibility to put up the tree before my nanay's bday (oct 24). there was even a time when i started decorating the house in june. the christmas decors add color, create a happy mood and make the house pretty. this year, colors are blue, silver, beige/brown & red.

I prepared a dinner for GC and UPDAA yesterday Oct 1. thanks to my sister in law who helped me cook. and to my son who did errands like buying the cake, (Swiss Alps from Cravings) softdrinks and ice.

i was able to get a small sized ms piggy in la loma. there were very few lechon sold since it was a monday. most of the pigs were super small and looked like man's best friend. they had burnt ears and no tails. luckily, i saw this pretty little piggy that had shiny crispy skin, two perfectly cooked ears, a round body and a long crispy tail.

since i was in the area, i needed to buy this chiffon cake... i couldn't find the grocery store and had to make the driver go back and forth banawe st, four times. i still couldn't find the store where i always buy that chiffon cake and original uncooked chinese ham. so, i decided to go to eng ho bakeshop and there it was. the chiffon cake doesn't have any icing or decor, but it is very light and not too sweet, just perfect for diabetics. / i also got some mooncakes since it was the mooncake festival over the weekend.

.

i invited my friend butch. ;} too bad cesbau and alan didn't go.

the dinner started at 630 and was over at 8pm. everyone left early since they all have to be at UPCD the next day for Day 2 of the seminar.
